An IV (intravenous) drip is a medical treatment that delivers fluids, medications, or nutrients directly into a patient’s bloodstream through a thin tube called a catheter inserted into a vein. The catheter is typically placed in the arm and connected to a bag containing the prescribed solution. This mixture of nutrients or medication slowly enters the patient’s system at a controlled rate.
